Privacy is an important issue with us. This statement covers the privacy policy
for DiaryBook for both data we hold about you and
your practice/company (your details) and the data we hold about your
contacts/patients (your customer's details).
We will not disclose or sell any of your details or your customer's details to
any third party for the purposes of marketing. However, there are some
extraordinary circumstances where we may disclose your details as part of the
operation of our site. By accepting the Terms of Service for DiaryBook, you
expressly consent to such use and disclosure of your personally identifiable and
other personal information.
YOUR DETAILS
We ask you to provide information when you register with DiaryBook. This
information may include your name, email address, mailing address and phone
numbers.
It is the policy of DiaryBook to respect the privacy of its members. We may
aggregate personally identifiable information and disclose such information to
third parties in aggregate for a number of business purposes, including running
and enhancing the services, but in these situations we do not disclose to other
entities any information that could be used to personally identify you. In the
course of using our site and our services, we automatically track certain
information about you. This information may include the URL that you just came
from (whether this URL is on our site or not), which URL you next go to (whether
this URL is on our site or not), what browser you are using, and your IP
address. We use this information in the normal operation of the site and we may
disclose this information on an aggregated basis.
We may use cookies on our site but only to enhance the service for the good of
our customers. Cookies are stored on your hard drive, not on our site. You are
always free to decline our cookies if your browser permits, although you may
miss out the enhancements.
If you send us correspondence, such as emails or letters, or if other users or
third parties send us correspondence about your use of our services, we may
collect such information into a file specific to you. We use information in the
file we maintain about you, and other information we obtain from your current
and past use of the service, to resolve disputes, troubleshoot problems and
enforce our user agreement.
YOUR CLIENT DETAILS
DiaryBook will never disclose any details of your customers or patients to
any third party. In addition we will endeavour to protect your data from
unauthorised access to the best of our abilities.
We understand that we do not own this data and that you may request a full
electronic copy of it at any time and have it wholly removed from DiaryBook's
system. DiaryBook, and its employees, may from time to time need to
access such data but only in the maintenance and support of the service.
DiaryBook provides you encrypted access to your client details using 128-bit
SSL security.
YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS
As part of our service, we will send to you periodic emails containing
information about us, updates on new service features, service usage tips,
information about third party services that are likely to be of interest to our
members, and member satisfaction questions. For now, we think we will send about
6 such email(s) per year. If you do not want to receive these emails, at any
time you can cancel your service notifying us via email that you wish to cancel
your account. In addition to the periodic emails, we may use your email address
to send you administrative notices about your account (such as notices about
pending activities and data backups).
DISCLOSURE CONDITIONS
Unfortunately (and notwithstanding anything to the contrary in this policy), due
to the existing regulatory and technical environment, we cannot guarantee that
all of your communications and other personally identifiable information will
never be disclosed in ways not otherwise described in this Privacy Policy. By
way of example (without limiting the foregoing), we may be forced to disclose
information to the government or third parties under certain circumstances, or
third parties may unlawfully intercept or access your transmissions or
communications. Further, we can (and you authorise us to) disclose any
information about you to law enforcement or other government officials as we, in
our sole discretion, believe necessary or appropriate.
